News

The two under 25 County sides representing Oxfordshire and Surrey appeared to have a very enjoyable match on Sunday 22nd June when we hosted the fixture at Thame, with Oxfordshire just getting the better of things in a tight match which went to the very last end before the result was decided.

It was an interesting mix of talented young bowlers ranging from 10-year-old girls and boys through to a number of six foot twenty-year-olds, as can be seen from the photo. The young bowlers displayed a lot of ability and the spectators often enjoyed some high-quality bowling throughout the tight match.

The club thanks our volunteers who turned up from 8am to prepare the green and surrounds for play, prepare and serve breakfast rolls, tea and coffee and operate the bar and kitchen throughout the day to make the event such a success. Thanks from all to Paul Spencer, Peter and Maggie Gibbons and their grandson Will, Deirdre Page, Dawn Lawley and husband Wayne and Ian Rutherford. Thanks also to Bill Giles who donated the bacon and our Chairman Byron who attended to welcome the visiting sides and hand over the green for the match.
