News

Wow what great finals weekend the best I have seen in the last 5 years, 80% of the games were nail biters, the Men's Victory Pairs with Tony Battaglia & Trevor Watkins v Ken King & Chris Trainer was a great game with Tony & Trevor laying 17/15 on end 17,  Ken & Chris needed 2 on the next end to get a Draw, Ken & Chris where so unlucky not to pick up the Jack and change the result, you know what it's like when you see your bowls just slide by the jack (frustration game).

The Men's Handicap between Geoff Roynon & Ian Rutherford with Ian's handicap being a 6 & Geoff being a 5, this was always going to be a very close game.

Ian was 19/13 up on end 18, Geoff clawed it back to 20/20 on end 24, then Geoff took the next end with 1 shot that got him over the line (the last shot always the hardest).

We were blessed by the weather, and lots of members coming up each day to see some great bowling, not a seat to be had around the green, tickets to see next year's finals will be at a premium and may need to be on a ballot situation like Wimbledon. (Grandstands coming for next season).  I have to thank 2 players that stood in late to make sure we could get the games played, and not any walk overs in the finals.
