The Ladies verses Gents annual match took place on Friday 2 September when we share the day with our Sponsors who advertise their services on the boards around our green. This year the Gents, captained by Ron Duncan came out winners by 81 shots to 53 with Keith Brooks, Barry Green and skip Ray Plested the top winning rink, who received a lottery ticket each for their endeavours whilst Jill Brooks, the Ladies captain, was gifted with some chocolates. Although the Ladies lost, they had two rinks who only lost by one shot. Jill Brooks’ team with Irene Park and Ann Ashfield were winning 11 to 8 but dropped 4 shots on the last end. After the game everyone was invited to a snack which was supplied by the bakers in Chinnor and ably assisted by Jane Kimber who cooked us up a delightful finger buffet.
