President’s Day was held on Saturday 3rd September having been postponed from the original date in July due to the hot weather.
There were 8 teams of 4 bowlers divided into two groups so that each team played 3 matches at the group stage.
Each game comprised of 5 ends.
The winning team from each group then played each other in the final of 6 ends.
The team members were:
Chris Shannon ( Skip ), Pat Munday, Alison Wilkinson and Steve Silver
Bill Giles ( Skip ) , Byron Harvey , Gini Williams and Heather Hallchurch
After 6 ends the game was tied at 4 all so an extra end was played which Chris Shannon’s team narrowly won. Congratulations!
In addition to the bowling, bacon and sausage rolls were provided at lunchtime and tea and cakes during the afternoon.
My thanks to everyone who contributed to making a really enjoyable day which I am sure everyone enjoyed.
A donation was made from President’s Day towards the cost of the new bowls wheelchair.
