Thame ladies played against Wendover with 3 triples at home on Thursday 31st July. Apart from some rain two or three times at the beginning of the match the weather was good with plenty of sunshine and an excellent green. Two of the triples consisting of Jan Sargeant, Marion Keal, Frances Goodyear and Gini Williams, Pauline Holmes and Heather Hallchurch, tried their very best but were beaten by two of Wendover’s very strong teams. The rink with Philippa Feltham, Jill Brooks and Deirdre Page were losing until the last three ends and managed to win by 4 shots. The overall score was Thame 34 Wendover 46. Well done to all ladies. Jill Brooks, Captain.

Thame men visited Bicester on Thursday 31st July in their last Oxfordshire League match of the season and were heavily beaten on all four rinks, with Bicester taking all 6 league points. Both Thame and Woodstock were relegated to Division Four for next season.

Thame’s mixed team went over to Bicester on Saturday 2nd August for their annual friendly fixture and on a warm, sunny afternoon, had a most enjoyable game against very welcoming opposition, who were happy to accommodate an extra triple at the last minute. Bicester ran out winners in a very close finish by 90 shots to 87 although Thame won on four of the rinks.
