Thame’s men playing in the Oxfordshire County League on Thursday against Banbury Central B at home were in invincible form and ran out winners by 92 shots to 44. They won on all four rinks to earn 6 league points and cemented their position at the top of the League on 47.5 points. Witney Town B are second 8.5 points behind, but Thame have a creditable shot difference of +272. Thame’s highest winning rink was played by Phil Reed, Barry Green, Bill Giles and skip Dave White who won 28-7.

Woodstock who are currently third, have three games left and have yet to play against Witney. Witney have two games left and both have to play Thame, who now control the finishing places.

Aylesbury Town could only manage to bring 4 triples, but they brought a very strong team, with many recognisable faces of those who play in Foxhills indoor bowls. We did well to draw 2 rinks each, but it is becoming a habit with us to fall short on the shot count. The finishing score was Aylesbury 70 and Thame 64. Our highest winning rink was Trevor Watkins, Jill Brooks and David Slawson. David Holland continues his winning streak along with John Wilkinson and Rob Burrows. Captain Roger Blackburn.
