Our green has now been professionally 'put to bed' for the Winter. Early Thursday morning Jesse, Barry and Chris mowed and prepped the green in readiness for our playing surface specialists Avonmore Associates to arrive. Avonmore then scarified, slit and hollow tined the playing surface before treating it with fungicides then top dressing and seeding the whole area. It's not a cheap affair, but worth it to ensure we have a lovely surface to play on year after year.
Many thanks go to those of our members who volunteer and spend many hours between them looking after the green and its' surroundings throughout the year, much of which goes unseen by the majority of us.
