Thame Bowls Club Weekly Newsletter No 21
On Thursday 18th September we welcomed Captain Angela and her team from Marlow. We were booked for 6 rinks and had enough wishing to play and reserves. Apart from some Friday games and the Chairman v Secretary this was the last of the season and I'm glad to say the teams shone through by giving Thame a shot win of 101 to 88, it was great to finish on a high. Our rink 1 had the highest score of the afternoon 19 to 12, well done to skip John Ashfield, Tony Battaglia, and Chris Roberts. Four other teams also won, congrats, and commiserations to the losing team.
Thanks must go to Chris Shannon and the team for the hard work they put in for a great green. Sandra French, Philippa Feltham and Jan Sargeant for getting the teas ready and the clear up, Ian Griffiths for setting up the rinks and both Chris and Ian Rutherford for running the bar. Thanks also to all who put out the tables and helped clear up. Without any of this assistance we wouldn't be able to play our game. Regards Colin French.
